Among them, heat resistance and mechanical strength are important. The greatest attention to the correct composition of the molding mass is required for the manufacture of large castings. To increase the level of resistance to temperature and chemical influences, the blanks are dried. This operation increases the duration of the technological process, which is why fast-hardening mixtures have become the most widespread.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The most common formulas<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The technological process widely uses a molding material based on liquid glass. These molds tolerate high temperatures well and are used in the manufacture of large castings. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chromomagnesite mixtures with a base of liquid glass have somewhat less ductility than similar mixtures with a base of technical lignosulfonate. The disadvantage of such a product is the low degree of gas permeability, due to which the thickness of the facing layer cannot exceed 15 millimeters. During the preparation of the molding mixture for aluminum casting, recycled chromomagnesite brick is used, which contains Cr2O3 within 15-20% and not less than 42% magnesium oxide.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No less popular are compositions based on chromium iron ore. The composition of such a mixture should contain no more than 40% of fine-fraction material, and in order to increase the strength of the form, in some cases up to 3% of technical lignosulfonate is added. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Very rarely, the composition contains zirconium sand. The use of such materials allows for castings with high surface cleanliness. However, due to the high cost of the materials, their use is cost-effective only in exceptional cases.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A sand-clay mixture based on liquid glass is very widely used. The use of such materials significantly reduces the duration of the technological process, increases productivity and product quality. However, there are difficulties with the use of reclaimed material.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The technology of manufacturing aluminum castings in hot-dip casting involves ensuring high surface cleanliness. The requirements for fire resistance are somewhat lower than in casting from ferrous metals. Fine sand is often included in the composition. The mass may also contain a small proportion of spent elements. Fuel oil and other similar materials, or specialized coatings, are used to protect against burning.    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Features of aluminum casting<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When controlling the quality of castings, special attention should be paid to stabilizing the composition of the molding compound, as it directly affects the quality of products and, as a result, the number of defects. The preparation of molding mixtures for aluminum casting takes place on special foundry equipment.
